Software Systems Development Engineer

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Location: Hybrid working, St Neots office (this role is also open to full time office based working)

Hours: 40 hours a week (with 30 minute paid lunch break)

Core office hours: 10am-3pm

We are looking for a well-rounded Software Systems Development Engineer who is looking to lead a team in working with the hardware test team architect to design and implement the Software Architecture of future test systems. 

You will:

  • Work with the Hardware Test Architect, leading Software Architecture activities on new and legacy test solutions

  • Lead Software development activities giving guidance to others in support of test system development

  • Take ownership of the maintenance and management of the test systems database supporting CEMs as required

  • Collaborate with project teams and others towards the optimum test methodology for calibration and test of new products

  • Software systems design, implementation and testing for both the Windows test system and drivers/firmware used in test hardware

  • Train, mentor and coach more junior team members

  • Research activities into new concepts/techniques

  • Continuous improvement activities

 What do you need:

  • MySQL database design and querying experience
  • Technical degree or diploma but ability with good practical experience would also be considered
  • Proficiency in C# is required
  • Knowledge of C++/C is desirable 
  • Experience of UI development using platforms such as WPF
  • Use of Microsoft Visual Studio and other IDE’s along with issue & project tracking software
  • Software version control, e.g. GIT, Hg, etc.
