Do you want to contribute to the development of advanced test and measurement devices?  Do you have the testing mindset?  If so, this could be the opportunity for you!

At Pico, you will get to develop a high-performance and user-friendly API to our oscilloscope software.

The development team exists to integrate new hardware into a secure and well tested C level API. Our mission is to focus on delivering the best SDK experience to both customers’ applications and internal apps such as PicoScope.

You will get flexi hours as well as the option to work remotely 2-3 times a week.  You will be joining a cross-functional team made up of 2 software developers and 3 hardware engineers, where everyone is happy to offer support and answer questions. Your opinion will be valued, so if you think there are better ways of making things work, simply speak up.  You will also be responsible for assisting other development teams with testing expertise.

As a test engineer, you will

  • Be working in a small, cross-functional team responsible for developing changes to our driver codebase and SDK

  • Use your knowledge and experience to guide the team to improve their test practices

  • Create appropriate test plans, test cases, and test charters to best suit the test coverage requirements

  • Raise clear and concise bug reports for issues found, including all relevant information

  • Refine requirements and acceptance criteria with the development team and stakeholders

  • Engage with the other software testers to share ideas, knowledge, and techniques to help us improve our abilities

  • Provide testing expertise to other driver and product teams

What we are looking for from you:

  • To have experience in manual testing - exploratory, functional, system, performance and stress testing

  • To highly value quality, have great attention to detail, and seek alternative perspectives.

  • To have experience with problem-solving and troubleshooting

  • To have the drive to learn and research into areas to expand the skill set of your team, and provide the best experience for end-users

  • To have experience with using an API to write repeatable tests

  • You may have experience with testing hardware/embedded systems

  • You may have experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux

  • You may have experience with automation
