Hardware Development Engineer

Location: St Neots (PE19 8YP), Cambridge 

Hours: full time, hybrid working optional

Your role:

From defining and implementing new hardware designs, performing analysis to ensure designs are reliable and robust, overseeing your designs into volume production and helping shape our development processes, the opportunities are endless and this role has a huge scope for you to mould and personalise it!  

What we're looking for:

We need you to have proven experience in requirement analysis and full development life cycle electronic design. Someone who can think analytically and has an appreciation of designing for manufacture. This role is a full time position, 40 hours a week based in our St Neots office! We do offer hybrid working but it's completely up to you whether you choose to work in this way. Senior Software Developer (C# and SQL)

Location: St Neots (PE19 8YP), Cambridge

Are you ready for your next challenge? Pico has a rare and exciting opportunity as we are looking to welcome a well rounded Senior Software Developer to lead a team to design and implement the Software Architecture of our future test system! 

About us:

Pico is on a remarkable journey, with 32 years of continuous growth and success under our belt. We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our ever-growing Software team. 

Your role:

You will be working with key stakeholders in leading the activities on new and legacy test solutions and giving guidance to others in support of the system development. You will take ownership of the maintenance and management of the system database, design software systems, implement and test both the windows and drivers/firmware use in our test hardware. All while putting your C# and SQL skills to excellent use.

What we're looking for:

SQL and C# experience is essential, it would be nice if you had C++ or C knowledge but this is not a deal breaker. Experience of UI development using platforms such as WPF. Someone who can use excellent communication and people skills to lead and motivate others.

This role is a full time position, 40 hours a week based in our St Neots office! We do offer hybrid working (2-3 days a week in the office) but it's completely up to you whether you choose to work in this way. Repair Technician

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Location: St. Neots, Cambridgeshire (Full-time office)

Pico Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Repair Engineer to join our fantastic test team!

You will:

Test, fault find and repair products and associated test equipment:

• Returned by Customers
• Supplied by off-site assemblers for investigation
• Requiring Quality and performance investigation
• Requiring evaluation for new products
• Requiring evaluation to support satisfactory test processes

What do you need:

• Able to read and understand schematics, layouts, BOM’s and other supporting diagnostic documentation
• Working understanding of EPROM programming/PIC/FPGA etc.
• Knowledge of Software and Programming
• Competent level of soldering skills
• Understanding of the working practices at Contract Electronic Manufacturers
• Good communication skills and diplomacy, able to interact with Customers, Suppliers and Design teams as required
• Awareness of Test strategies and best practices with ‘Design for Test’
• Training or experience relating to understanding of analogue & digital circuits and Design and Test methodologies

Automotive Support Assistant

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Location: St.Neots, Cambridgeshire (hybrid working optional)

Pico is searching for an Automotive Support Assistant to join our Automotive team!

This is a key role that will enable the successful individual to provide essential support for customers, co-ordination between the Automotive team and other internal Pico teams!

You will:

• Answer requests for information about kits, products, pricing, documentation & availability
• Manage Custom kit and branding requests
• Support Automotive Specialists in the identification, potential sourcing & evaluation of 3rd party products
• Progress minor projects (branding & 3rd party products) through the Pico development process
• Update Bills of Material following component obsolescence changes
• Ensure satisfactory migration to the SysPro ERP system for all Automotive products and customers.
• Provide a regular supply of information to distributors (including pricing and availability), including the potential creation and maintenance of a distributor portal
• Provide reporting and analysis for the Automotive team regarding orders, sales and live projects

Technical Support Engineer

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Location: St.Neots, Cambridgeshire (hybrid working optional)

Pico is currently looking for someone we can put our trust in, to help our customers make the best use of our world-leading PC Oscilloscopes and software.

You will:

• Be able to create example code to demonstrate the full capabilities of our PicoScope hardware
• Assist customers in writing a wide variety of cool and interesting applications.
• Assist the Development and Marketing teams with the testing and evaluation of new products and software features
• Provide after-sales technical support to existing customers and distributors via telephone, email, and the forum for Pico’s hardware and software products
• Record and investigate software and hardware bugs reported by customers
• Assist customers in selecting the correct products for their application.

What do you need? 

• Demonstrable experience in writing code in any language to control hardware
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Front line support / customer service experience desirable
• Previous experience in electronics and using test equipment is an advantage
• It would be an advantage to have a broad understanding of oscilloscopes, data loggers, or other electronic measuring instruments
• In-depth knowledge of PCs and Operating systems is vital.

Your role:

There is a focus on delivering the best SDK experience to both customers applications and internal apps such as PicoScope or PicoLog. You will be responsible for product/project progress, writing tech specs, identifying risks and investigating bugs, writing unit and integration tests and for builds and infrastructure. All of this whilst putting your C++ knowledge to fantastic use! 

What we're looking for:

Are you a process champion in Scrum or TDD? EXCELLENT! We require advanced knowledge of programming languages, operating systems and code design at Senior level. Demonstrable experience of ability to lead a team and coach others is a necessity. Experience with Windows, Mac or Linux is also ideal!
