  • CIPS qualifications are not essential, but advantageous.

  • Exhibitions: Manage our exhibitions process from start to completion, from booking stand space, travel logistics, regular meetings, managing portals, manage event data capture. Point of contact for stand building company. UK & occasional overseas travel to assist with exhibitions and events
  • Arrange carnets for goods travelling overseas to exhibitions
  • Supervise goods leaving and returning to the office with logistics companies or stand builder once packed and ready to be shipped for events
  • Book hotel flights and travel as required for colleagues
  • Advertising: Be our main advertising contact, book digital and print adverts, source new publications, keep internal ad tracking system up to date, assist with campaign content and building, contribute ideas to marketing campaigns

You will:

Theo role on offer is within out Test Systems Group which deliver production test solutions for use both internally and at our Contract Electronic Manufacturers (CEMs). Our systems consist of bespoke hardware that is controlled by Software.

You will have We are looking for someone with experience in designing software for production test systems  to test electronic products  and be able to lead software design activities within our test systems development team. The systems you develop will be testing both legacy and future products. The role will also include database management of all Pico test system data. 

You will:

  • Work with the HW test architect, leading software architecture activities on new and legacy test solutions
  • Lead SW development activities giving guidance to others in support of test system development
  • Take ownership of the maintenance and management of the test systems database supporting CEMs as required
  • Collaborate with project teams and others towards the optimum test methodology for calibration and test of new products
  • Software systems design, implementation and testing for both the Windows test system and also drivers/firmware used in test hardware
  • Train, mentor and coach more junior team members
  • Research activities into new concepts/techniques
  • Continuous improvement activities

 

What do you need:

  • Technical degree or diploma preferred in a relevant subject but ability with good practical experience would also be considered in a similar role
  • Proficiency in: C# for test system and knowledge of C++ for device drivers and C for firmware
  • MySQL database design and querying experience
  • Experience of UI development using platforms such as WPF
  • Use of Microsoft Visual Studio and other IDE’s along with issue & project tracking software such as Jira/Trello
  • Software version control, e.g. GIT, Hg, etc.
  • Full product development lifecycle experience and knowledge of manufacturing constraints and limitations
  • Familiarity with different design methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, etc.
  • Familiarity and/or experience of Hardware design would also be a distinct advantage

  • Perform design calculations/simulations and prototype as required in order to estimate performance, reliability and the identification/elimination on high risk-areas ensuring robust (high quality) designs requiring minimal re-design
  • Assist in the test/verification of electronic hardware
  • Assist with the product transition into production (Dfx), including providing all relevant assembly information
  • Support the Technical Customer Support team and other departments when required
  • Continuous process improvement activities.

What will you need?

  • Electronics design experience
  • Ability to fault-find/debug
  • Proficiency in schematic capture tools (ideally OrCAD, CADENCE tool set, but we can train you) and understanding of constraints
  • Experience of PCB layout (ideally Cadence, Allegro tools).

  • Good experience in developing test methods and test system architecture for production test/calibration, and electronics design
  • Understanding of metrology, and the application of test solutions to traceable standards
  • Hardware (80%) and software (20%) awareness.

What do you need? 

  • Demonstrable experience in writing code in any language to control hardware

Location: Hybrid working, St Neots, UK  (This role is also open to full time office base working)

Hours: 40 hours a week (with 30 minute paid lunch break) 

Core office hours: 10am - 3pm

You will:

  • Be working in small, agile teams responsible for developing changes to our driver codebase,  SDK, and other products
  • ​Work to our best practices to build maintainable software
  • ​Use your knowledge and experience to guide the team to improve their test practices
  • ​Create appropriate test plans, test cases, and test charters to best suit the test coverage requirements
  • ​Raise clear and concise bug reports for issues found, including all relevant information
  • Refine requirements and acceptance criteria with the development team and stakeholders
  • ​Engage with the other software testers to share ideas, knowledge, and techniques to help us improve our abilities
  • Provide testing expertise to other driver and product teams.

What do you need? 

  • To have experience in manual testing - functional, system, performance, and stress testing
  • ​To highly value quality, have great attention to detail, and seek alternative perspectives. 
  • ​To have experience with problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • To have the drive to learn and research into areas to expand the skill set of your team, and provide the best experience for end-users
  • ​To have experience with using an API to write repeatable tests
  • ​You may have experience with testing hardware/embedded systems
  • You may have experience with Windows, Mac, and Linux
  • You may have experience with automation.

Do you want to contribute to the development of advanced test and measurement devices?

At Pico, you will get to develop a high-performance and user-friendly API to our oscilloscope software. 

The development team focus on integrating new hardware into a secure and well tested C level API. Our mission is to focus on delivering the best SDK experience to both customers’ applications and internal apps such as PicoScope or PicoLog.

You will be joining a cross-functional team of 5, where everyone is happy to offer support and answer questions. Your opinion will be valued, so if you think there are better ways of making things work, simply speak up. 

You will:

  • Be responsible for product/project progression
  • Be writing tech specs, identifying risks and investigating bugs
  • ​Be writing unit and integration tests
  • Responsible for builds and infrastructure
  • Communicating progress and identifying blocking issues.

What do you need? 

  • To be a Champion process (Scrum, TDD, etc)
  • ​Excellent object-oriented language C++ or C# skills. The members of the driver team use C++
  • ​Advanced knowledge of programming languages, operating systems and code design
  • Experience with Windows, Mac or Linux
  • ​Capable to take on technical leadership
  • Keeping up with new technologies and industry trends.

Analogue Hardware Development Engineer

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Location: Hybrid working, St Neots office, (this role is also open to full time office based working)

Hours: 40 hours a week (with 30 minute paid lunch break) 

Core office hours: 10am - 3pm 

Are you tired of not fully utilizing your skills and potential, and having to follow the same old patterns every day?

In this role there are a variety of things you could find yourself working on; analogue, PCB, RF and mixed signal designs to name a few. You could also be working on software and firmware. No two days will be the same and you will get to fully utilize your potential.

In addition to getting to work with our knowledgeable, supportive and friendly Engineers, every other Wednesday afternoon you can use ‘blue sky time’ to work on innovative projects that don’t have to be directly connected to what you are working on at the time.

You will:

  • Perform analogue design in support of NPD
  • Perform schematic capture/ PCB design
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards e.g. EMC, LVD & RoHS
  • Research new concepts/techniques.

What do you need?

  • A degree or HND/ HNC in electronic engineering is preferred, but we will also consider candidates with relevant experience
  • DC to 2GHz circuit level experience including analysis, simulation and test
  • Proficiency in schematic capture tools (ideally OrCAD, CADENCE or Spice tool set, but we can train you)
  • Experience of PCB layout of mixed signal, RF, microwave or gigabit technology
  • Experience with high speed ADC’s.
